This is Zaina Abu Warda. She is only two years old.

On a day that should’ve been filled with laughter and learning, Zaina’s life was changed forever. While attending daycare in Gaza, her building was hit by an Israeli airstrike that targeted a nearby school. In an instant, her childhood was shattered.

Zaina survived, but the wounds were devastating. Doctors had no choice but to amputate her left leg. She is now stable—but fragile—facing a long road to healing, both physically and emotionally.

Her father is doing everything he can to care for her, but he is overwhelmed. Zaina needs:

Urgent medical care and post-operative treatment Ongoing medication to prevent infection and manage her pain Nutritious food to help her recover Funds for evacuation and rehabilitation so she can get long-term support

This campaign is to make sure Zaina’s father never has to choose between food and medicine for his little girl. It’s to ensure she gets the care she needs, every single day.

Friends, I want to share an important update with you about little Zeina and her family.

A few days ago, I was able to send $1,400 directly to Zeina’s father to support her urgent needs. Sadly, their situation has become even more difficult since then. The family has been displaced by bombings and is now struggling without stable shelter. Zeina and her loved ones are enduring harsh conditions, and right now they don’t even have a tent to protect them.

Despite everything, Zeina’s father expressed gratitude that they have found a temporary place to reunite as a family. But the reality is still extremely hard.

That’s why I am now focusing on raising funds specifically to provide Zeina and her family with a proper tent, so they can have safety, dignity, and some comfort during these dark days.

Every single donation will go directly towards helping them survive this crisis.

Hey everyone thanks for donating. Just letting you all know I transferred the first $1000 to Zeina dad on the 4th August. He was able to buy her: clothes, pain killers, vitamins, nutritional food, and a few other bits. I’m working hard on getting more donations so that Zeina can not want for anything as she is very sad she lost her leg. My goal is for her to get enough donations for the family and Zeina to restart their lives again, get the best medical care, and a prosthetic for Zeina.
